I wasn't sure what I was going to make of the satin finish but I think it's actually really pretty - I think it really works with such a bright poppy colour. The application was super easy and the finish is beautifully smooth and my nails feel lovely to touch (weird but true!). So far it's holding up really well without a top coat (impressive given previous Illamasqua experience) as I only have gloss at the minute and don't want to ruin the look.
In different lights the colour changes vibrancy but I think it's actually really fun and more wearable than I expected. At £13.50 a bottle it isn't cheap and for a fad such as neon I'm not sure it would be worth it. I do like the idea of something so bright being a matte satin though and so I think for a twist on a typical glossy pink it is worth a go as a little treat!

I had a very quiet weekend which mainly involved a bit of housework and baking. the old housework isn't as fun to look at in photos though so I thought I'd share some baking snaps. I thought these red velvet cupcakes could be a winner for Valentine's Day which isn't too far away...
