I've tried lots of diets. LOTS. I've tried low carb, calorie counting, Weight Watchers numerous times since I was a child really. I've been conscious of my weight for as long as I can remember.
2 weeks ago I joined Slimming World on the Extra Easy plan. It all sounded very complicated to begin with but I read lots about it before the first class and have got used to it all quite quickly (well the theory of it at least!)
Week 1 weigh in - 3lbs LOST
This first week wasn't too bad. I was mainly trying to get my head around syns and free food and super free/speed food etc. I am still referring to syns as points a lot of the time (grr Weight Watchers) but the week went ok and I was pleased with my loss as I'd went over my syns on a couple of days.
Week 2 weigh in - 1.5lbs LOST
This week was terrible. I ate out 6 times. I had Indian food, Chinese food, 2 restaurant meals, a McDonalds and a kebab. I truly fell off the wagon but upped the exercise and towards the end of the week I upped my super speed and water intake and it seems to have paid off. I'm a slightly worried I just haven't shown the gain yet, so next week's weigh in might be a killer...
All in all I'm fairly impressed and have lost 4.5lbs in total.
Have you tried Slimming World? I'd love to hear your experiences of this or any other diets/healthy eating regimes you've tried.

Mini Toiletries Bargain
I love travel sized/mini toiletries. Not only are they cute but they are great for travelling with especially on hand luggage only flights. Things like the hand cream are also great to throw in my handbag.
I am usually impressed with the range of minis my local Asda stocks and had a browse to see if anything caught my eye to set aside for my holidays and noticed that the usually priced £1 products were on 4 for £3 so I picked up the above for £6 - amazing! (The Lynx and gel are for Mr L by the way!)
I'm not sure how long the offer runs for but it's definitely worth a look!

NOTD Models Own Bronze Rage NEW
This is the one newly released Models Own nail polishes that caught my eye most so I snapped it up yesterday in Boots (on 3 for 2!!). First impressions were good - it looks like a rich molten metallic bronze. I applied one coat as shown below and it dried quickly and streak free.
I added a second coat which again went on smoothly and dried evenly and quickly. I must say as a regular fan of Models Own I think this is definitely another triumph for them and is a really nice shade for spring/summer. It has a nice combination of shimmer and depth of colour - definitely another keeper!
Have you tried any new polishes lately? What did you think??

FOTD Bronzed Eye Look
I hope you're all keeping well. I thought I'd do a little FOTD post of something fairly neutral and every day appropriate using some of my most used products. Only afterwards did I realise it looks a little bit like an Adele kind of look possibly? Anyway here goes...

New Look Purchase & Discount
Hi all. A quick post partly to show off my latest purchase of these little boots from New Look (which seems to be constantly having some kind of sale or other). These were reduced from £19.99 to £9 and I know I will wear them so much (comfy but practical in this miserable weather) so my bank balance isn't too upset.
Secondly, I picked up a copy of the free New Look magazine instore (Spring 2011 edition) and on the last page there is a voucher for 20% off instore 25 March-10 April 2011 inclusive and online 1-3 April 2011 inclusive. Check out the terms & conditions but as far as I know, it excludes permanently reduced items, Gold, Idol, multibuys, gift vouchers/card, e topups or payment from store cards and cannot be used in conjunction with other offers like student discount. The voucher from the magazine needs to be completed and given in store.
Online code is MWA11S
Enjoy - hope it works!

Spring 2011 Florals
Hi everyone, I hope you're all well! I've been super busy with work again but thought I'd drop by with some of my favourite floral clothes to brighten up what is a fairly miserable day here.
Dollydagger Boutique Collection English Rose Print Scarlet Dress £130 (petticoat not included) http://www.dollydagger.co.uk/
ASOS Floral Printed Cropped Jumper £35 http://www.asos.com/
Eucalyptus Floral Full Skirt in Green was £53, now £30 http://www.asos.com/
Are you pleased to see florals making their seasonal comeback or is it not your style? I must say I like a touch of floral but am loving some of the fruit prints around at the moment too.
